This is the 1897 Spring Traveling Costume perfect for special occation visits.
The coat is beautifully tailored with a snug, fitted bodice, button trimmed leg-of-mutton sleeves and a deep V-snaped collar. The coat skirt features generously pleated folds at the back and sweet buttons and buttonhole loops.
Under the coat is a shimmering lace blouse, trimmed with a brooch and belt. The skirt is designed in a textured crochet stitch to match the coat.
Authentically recreated, the hat is a lovely late Victorian replica. Edged with golden braid, the hat is trimmed with a tiny veil at one side and froths of feathers, flowers and frills. The hair is pulled up in a Gibson Girl style at the front with loose tresses flowing down the back.
In her hand she carries a realistic little hat box that opens and closes, decorated with golden braid and rayon tassels.
A vintage traveling trunk with clasp and tiny hinges that really work complete the ensemble.
